THE PUBLIC LIGHTING PROJECT CARRIED OUT THROUGH THE ENGINEERING TEAM HAS OBTAINED 80% OF THE FUNDING RELATED TO ENERGY SAVING AND EFFICIENCY ACTIONS IN OUTDOOR PUBLIC LIGHTING, WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ANDALUSIAN ERDF OPERATIONAL PROGRAM 2014–2020.
- Cañada Rosal will become an energy-efficient municipality thanks to the replacement of its public lighting system with new LED technology.
- The project will be executed by the Andalusian energy services company Cactus2e.
The services provided by Cactus2e, the awarded company, are based on energy management, maintenance, total system warranty, and investments in energy savings and renewable energy.
The works to replace the public lighting in Cañada Rosal will be executed by an Energy Services Company (ESE), which will make an initial investment of €893,021.
Cactus2e will recover this investment through the energy savings achieved by the renovation, meaning that the Town Council will not have to make any financial outlay.
A structured plan will be implemented to monitor and control energy consumption in the installations, with the goal of achieving maximum energy efficiency without reducing the required performance levels.
The public lighting engineering firm EnergyTAS was responsible for conducting a preliminary study of the municipality’s current situation and forecasting the savings derived from the upgrade.
A total of 1,469 lighting points will be completely renewed, including columns, supports, and ornamental “villa”-type brackets, as well as height adjustments in various locations to improve lighting uniformity across the streets.
The project also includes maintenance operations to ensure proper functioning, including the repair and replacement of all deteriorated components.
Additionally, new lighting points will be installed in areas identified as dark spots due to lack of illumination, which currently pose a risk to residents.
There will also be improvements to underground distribution lines that show insulation defects.
A total of 19 control panels will be upgraded to meet current regulations, incorporating a new SMART2e remote management system, which will significantly reduce both time and energy consumption.
As part of its commitment to environmental care and sustainability, Cactus2e will prevent the emission of 177.79 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere through this modernization effort.
Cañada Rosal thus joins the growing list of municipalities implementing sustainable measures to promote environmental stewardship.
Throughout this process, EnergyTAS aims to ensure full transparency and public support.
A dedicated phone line has been set up, available from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., so that residents can ask questions, make requests, or report issues in their area — actively contributing to the proper progress of the works.
Likewise, residents should be aware that any temporary issues related to lamp activation, shutdowns, or uneven light distribution are part of the initial implementation phase and will be corrected in subsequent stages of the project.
